    (текущий счет) На кроссированном чеке (crossed cheque) две параллельных черты на лицевой стороне чека указывают на то, что платеж должен быть переведен на банковский счет получателя, а не выплачиваться наличными при предъявлении чека (обычное кроссирование (general crossing)). Специальное кроссирование (special crossing) может использоваться в целях ограничения дальнейших передач чека, например путем указания наименования банка получателя платежа. Открытым чеком (open cheque) называется обычный некроссированный чек, который может быть оплачен наличными в банке лица, выписавшего чек. Ордерный чек (order cheque)-это чек, деньги по которому могут быть выплачены определенному лицу “или по его приказу”, что дает возможность получателю платежа либо депонировать их на счете, либо сделать передаточную надпись в пользу третьего лица, т.е. передать ему права на этот чек путем надписи на оборотной стороне чека. В бланковом чеке (blank cheque) сумма платежа не указывается; такие чеки часто выписываются в тех случаях, когда точная сумма долга неизвестна и получатель платежа должен сам внести ее в чек. Однако чекодатель имеет право ограничить платеж максимальной суммой, надписав на чеке “до... ф. ст.”. “Резиновым” чеком (rubber cheque) называют чек, который был возвращен лицу, выписавшему его, в связи с тем, что на счете этого лица недостаточно средств для его оплаты; просроченный чек (stale cheque)-это такой чек, по которому с момента его выдачи до момента предъявления к оплате прошло более трех месяцев. В США принято иное написание слова “чек”: check.
